Purchase Failed even with Free Gifts, Reset?

How would I reset purchasing on an iOS? I’ve already entered in new cards but still having purchasing problems even when trying to claim the new gift. “Purchase Failed. Please try again later.”

I am having the same exact problem… And I just spent $20 specifically for this purchase for this event. I opened a ticket with support and am hoping it gets resolved prior to the event conclusion.
I’m having the same issue. I cannot even pick up the complimentary gift. Says “purchase failed” I’m stuck at home way outside town, no way to purchase energy either!
See the thread over in the bugs section for more info about this. There are a couple of very cumbersome workarounds, but there's no ETA for a fix. And the workarounds are only for purchasing things with gold you already have. I don't think we'll be able to purchase more gold until the issue is actually resolved.
I will certainly check this out, thank you. Considering that every time I open a ticket it seems to get closed without any real response or resolution.
Not the greatest support mechanism. This is very disappointing… Niantic has been pretty good in the past. Not sure what is going on here...
Yeah, I agree. Unfortunately, one of the workarounds is contacting support and having them buy things for you. I've done it twice now, but it takes about 12 hours for them to get to it.

I’m having the same issue. It’s been going on for over a week. I’ve tried reaching out to Niantic and two apple and I have had no support. Apple says it’s a developer issue. I reach out to Niantic and I get no response. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting that I found in the forums and Facebook and some of the temporary fixes worked once or twice, but now they don’t work anymore. I am so frustrated.

Thanks everyone for your support! It has been frustrating because I don’t usually spring to pay money for stuff, but I love the adversary concept and thought I would go for it, but like challenges can be spell energy intensive so while playing an adversary I ran out of spell energy, like on the last two punches to beat a Malloy. Then I am paying for coins to buy spell energy, there is no other way like opening a gift from a friend. The charge goes through although my debit doesn’t show it and is negative. So I transfer money expecting the charge to come through later coins received. However, when returning to the adversary it says I don’t have enough coins to purchase energy even though I clearly have over 400 coins. Purchase Failed, Try again later. Ever since and I lost the analogy I was working on as it never came back and no I cannot complete the event because I cannot eat an edible that is only obtainable through pay and store however comp gifts can’t even be received so I cannot even get the free event crate. Please help us and restore our purchasing power please?
Update: The debit charge has gone through as of 12/19/20 and my account is still having problems. This kind of payment problem problem will cost Niatic bucks if they don’t get it fixed, because now I’ve paid for something and not only haven’t they failed to deliver but then locked me out of an event that is centered around bringing in money. Time to get cracking on a resolve if WU doesn’t want to lose lots of players.
I am having this issue as well. I can’t claim my free gift and I can’t buy coins so I have enough to purchase the adversaries vanquisher bundle that I don’t want to miss out on. It’s very frustrating. I also contacted support but have not heard back
Are they going to offer the past failed events again?
it would be nice if they did since we could not complete them or get our free gifts, or purchase new dark marks or anything for that matter.
So I created a new iTunes account - logged into it on an old iPhone I had. Logged into the game and bought coins and items with no problem.
I then logged out of the game and logged back in on my phone. And it works. So for my work around I am able to log in and do the purchases on the old iPhone without logging out of my iTunes account on my phone. Not ideal but it works.

it has worked as a perm. solution/fix for others in WU as well, hopefully it'll work for you as well :)
