Why no dedicated News page?

I picked up a special portkey for today's community day, and since I didn't know what was inside it, I went to check the news article for it in the app. Except on the main menu where announcements sometimes show up, there's a blank page with "Help Wanted: [obvious placeholder for SOS tasks]". This is nothing new: it happens randomly all the time, and while annoying, most announcements will take you to a place where you can view other announcements you might have missed. This one, however, just brings you to the assignments page, because it's clearly supposed to do with the SOS tasks that haven't been updated in over a year. And with the blocked off, there's no way to see any information about today's Community Day, today, when I most need information about what's going on with Community Day.

Luckily Google News always has articles about what's going on during Community Day, although unluckily, today Google News has never heard of Wizards Unite, so here I am at the main website, where I finally find the information that I'm looking for, thanks. But a way to reliably find that information in the app would be swell too.
