Suggestion for a ranking system to help the freeloader problem in fortresses

I am just throwing out some ideas, that people can discuss. What I'm trying for is a way to give credit for Shielding, Buffing, Healing, and all the other strategic spells, as well as pure combat.

The base for ranking would be the the number of players times the number of opponents plus one point for each focus point spent by all players.

So 5 players facing 16 bad guys would be 80. If the players used 50 total spell points, the base would be 130.

The base divided by the number of players is what each person would be expected to contribute. In the example above, 130 divided by 5 is 26. So to make your share, you'd have to defeat bad guys and use spell points equalling 26. But the point is to make sure people contribute, not to penalize people who haven't got the same resources as their peers, so bias that by 80% or 20.8

Any player who manages 20.8 (in this example) gets a point on their participation score. If you are a freeloader, or if you leave before combat is done, you get nothing. But if you are a low level player, you could still get a decent score by using your Focus points to support the group. Participation score should be displayed next to the player's name. It's certainly more useful than the current number in telling whether the player is someone you want on your team when you enter a fortress.

If you exceed 150% of the base (39 in this example), you might get 2 points to your participation score. Those who manage to finish a level after some coward ran off, or pull much more than their share of the load deserve recognition.

Of course a solo player would be guaranteed a point, assuming he completed the level. Perhaps we don't count solos. Likewise the Ruins levels are too easy for most players. Maybe we don't count Ruins, or we don't count any level below 1/6th of your level. (I'm level 46 right now, which would mean I wouldn't get credit for anything lower than Tower level 3.)

Second example, just to show the math. 3 players facing 11 bad guys, and using a total of 17 spell points. Base is 3 * 11 + 17 or 50, 16.7 per player. 80% is 13, 150% is 25.

    not considered the chambers level?

    on low level chambers very very often i got nothing to fight until finish because every one can easily defeat the foe(s).

    @Kodokmag I don't think anyone is too unhappy about people not taking their share of the load in Ruins, or perhaps even Towers. Until I run out of time, I can slaughter opponents endlessly in the Ruin levels. Of course, I'm playing an Auror, and they are combat specialists.

    The problem is Dark levels, where people don't pull their share of the load.

    I do think there should be some payout for carrying your weight in a fortress battle. Not exactly sure how to manage that, but if there’s 5 teammates about the same level/rank, I shouldn’t have to defeat half the foes because people aren’t selecting opponents. I get each profession tackles certain foes better, but that doesn’t mean you sit back because none of them are “your specialty”. Yes, that has happened.
