What do you think of this gift? At first I was meh. Then I opened one while Brain Potion was in use and it upped to mid-3K. Where does it rank compared to potions and runestones?

@CzechDiamond I'm not sure yet. Someone sent me one yesterday but apparently it has spell energy which I have way over my max for so I couldn't open it. I'm pretty close to level 60 though so I'd welcome it if I could have opened it. Some are already close to or at max level though so I'm not sure it would be of any use to a lot of the players currently

@CzechDiamond I think that depends on a players level, mainly if the player you are sending the gift to has already reached max level (60) or not.

If a player has reached level 60 already, then this gift isn’t really useful since the xp after level 60 doesn’t add up. However, if the player you are sending the gift to is new or at a level below 50 then the gifts can help level up faster, which is useful as some SOS skill tree lessons are unlocked based on a players level. Players above level 50 may or may not be interested in these gifts, depending on how fast they want to reach the max level.

    I haven't multi-class yet. I'm a 46th level Auror.

But if I were to start playing as a professor, would I start at zero XP? If so, the Wiz XP gifts could be very useful in getting up to usable level.

@BionicManster No, your wizarding level stays the same; it doesn’t change when you switch professions. You just start at the beginning with you professor combat points. Your Auror combat points don’t change, so you can switch back to and play as an Auror whenever you want.

@CBG92 It doesn’t have any spell energy in it, but it’s a blue gift and at the moment the game treats it like a spell energy gift, so you can’t open it when your SE capacity is full. It’s like the potion gifts, which can’t be opened if your ingredient vault is full, even if you have space for potions.

@CBG92 That does seem to be the case, since it doesn’t make sense for the WXP gift to be connected to a players SE capacity when no SE is awarded from it. Hopefully the @HPWUTeam will be able to have a look into it and sort it soon.

@CBG92 It is bugged, but what @Imaginatio said was that you could open it whenever you aren't maxed on spell energy. So all you have to do is banish a few foundables, then open it.

Thanks @Imaginatio for the info. If I understand what you said, I start over with combat points, but retain all wizard XP. So once you are maxed out on Wiz XP, the Wiz XP gift is basically useless, right? If that is the case, Wiz XP gifts should be given to lower level people to give them a boost up.

I really wish Niantic would allow us to switch professions within the Fortresses. Anyone who has played this very long knows the most effective team contains at least one from every profession. Allowing profession change would cut down on people abandoning a level and pissing off the other players ... maybe.

@BionicManster I know that, but I've been trying to stay as far above my max as possible since I can't really go out and replenish energy for days and sometimes weeks at a time. So if indeed it is bugged, hopefully it gets fixed soon(which I doubt) and if not well then I just can't open it for awhile. Been trying to buy energy extensions too but I also don't want to blow through all my coins I'm trying to save

@BionicManster happy to help. And yes, that’s what I meant with the wizard xp and combat points. 😊

Also, regarding the changing professions in fortresses, it has been suggested multiple times, so hopefully the @HPWUTeam will implement a feature to allow that. No idea if it will happen or not, but if it’s something the team is working on then hopefully we’ll get it soon.

@CBG92 If you want to add me, I'll try to send you some Spell points regularly. I don't have easy access, but there is a shopping mall only a few miles away where I can get 7 Inns in a row. That's where I replenish, as well as get gifts to send out.

@BionicManster I'll be more than happy to add you, but I'm way above capacity in spell energy and I'm trying to keep it up for as long as I can. I am, however struggling with finding decent ingredients recently so if you can send those out when you can I would appreciate it. Also trying to max out my third profession if you ever happen to have an extravagant runestone. I'm not picky at all lol. If you send energy though I might not be able to open it for awhile but I'll get there

Am I missing something? At level 55, I see zero value in receiving XP gifts. They are a waste since leveling up at this point gains me nothing. All trees are open. My objectives now are finishing training trees, working on the other professions, etc. For this reason I stopped using brain elixirs some time ago. I have about 50 of them amd will likely throw them out soon. If this had been a thing when I was at a lower level, I’d have appreciated XP gifts then. I’m happy to send XP gifts to newer players but I’d rather get 2-3 spell energy than 1500XP.

@ShrimpNGritsKS: Well, depends on what you are after, really, and what the options are.

I'm level 58, my only goals right now are to reach 60 and prestige the last 3 frames in the standard foundable registry to gold. So, because of the "reach 60" part I put value on gifts based on how many XP they give. So, yeah, I feel the 3750 XP you get from those (with BBE) is what I want most.

Not sure how much XP the rare spellbook present gives, but that would probably be ok as well. The coin present is also okish, that one also yields a considerable amount of XP.

I don't need coins, ingredients, spell books (I don't care about skilling a second profession) or potions, and when there is no adversary event running I don't need SE either, so basically there is nothing outside of XP that presents have to offer to me, really.

wxp gifts are useless to anyone who's hit lv 60. Espec. since unlike pogo/other games we can't see wxp counter going up after that, it just says "MAX LEVEL!"

but this is if im not wrong the wxp counts per gift:

wxp gift: 1000 wxp w/o bbe

basic rune/SE/ingred: around 20 wxp w/o bbe - w bbe depends on how much you've enhanced it from sos nodes.

extravagant SE/rune/ingred gifts: around 500 wxp w/o bbe

    trace tonic/potent/bbe gifts: 500 wxp w/o bbe

    magnificent rune/gold gift: 1000 wxp w/o bbe

sponsored inn/fort gifts: around 30-40 wxp w/o bbe

extim/dwadle/bbe ingred gifts: around 20 wxp w/o bbe

wit gift: 500 wxp w/o bbe

essential rune: 0 wxp (its all abt higher rune lvl than basic and healing potion)

not sure if i've forgotten any of the existing gifts.

wxp gift is 1500 w/o BBE.

But yeah, if you reached level 60 or are not interested in leveling up, it is completely pointless. If XP are what you want predominantly, it is the best thing you can get.
