I was not rewarded the promised Thunderbird from the Spotlight Event

Like the title says, I just defeated Tower Chamber V with another player and I was NOT rewarded the Thunderbird fragment like the news post promised I would. Instead, I got some **** called a "Murtlap". I used the correct Runestone, selected the correct Tower Chamber, and defeated it (which was hard enough even with another person). The Preview at the top even showed the image of the Thunderbird. But I was not given it and now I've wasted a Runestone.


I can send a screenshot if I need to.


I'm going to attempt this event two more times and if I keep getting shafted then I know this is a bug or something.


I am also going to file a bug report on this because this really does seem off.


Is anyone else having this issue?

    Ok, so update: I tried it two more times like I said and this time I managed to get 2 Thunderbird fragments (enough for the Max, finally). One thing important to mention is that both of these times I defeated Tower V alone.


    So what gives? We have to defeat the Tower by ourselves to get the right fragments?

    If you want to ensure getting that guaranteed fragment, you gotta start the Chamber first. It's because of the time zone differences across the world, meaning that the event ended for the player who started the chamber first.

    I wish I'd known that earlier. I did Tower V five times and got one thunderbird fragment.

    Reward depends on the player who starts the chamber (the red one).

    Thank you to all who commented, now I see where the problem lied.


    But I agree with the other commenters: it would have been nice to know that small but apparently important detail about starting the Challenges ahead of time. Maybe mention it in the news posts so that newish players (like myself) will be aware of that in the future?
