Knight Bus Dark ChamberV
Explain to me why players go into this chamber and at the last second drop out?? So annoying, I cannot do this by myself. And since my husband and I cannot play together without leaving the house, this is so frustrating. You put out a special and yet I have tried 5 times today to do that chamber and every time the others dropped out!!
And if you want us to test it, maybe a little easier would be better 9 characters at that level for one player is too much. Especially, when they are fierce anything !!!

completely agree. just about 6-7 minutes before the end I was able to get a balanced team for dark V but before that I lost a runestone for the first time in the chamber because everyone left me😂
I very rarely quit the Chamber when it's less than 20 secs left. Reason being is attention required elsewhere immediately despite having a 100% timeslot with no distractions. Like when a kid breaks something or an elderly parent feeling suddenly very unwell or a very important phone call I can't ignore. I don't know what other reasons could possibly be.
if a chamber doesnt have 5 ppl in and at least 1 of each profession ppl will leave, dark chamber 5 w/o all 3 proffs is not fun and very potion consuming.
and if ppl know what theyre doing and cooperate D5 isnt that tough, it can be done at 3mins w/o any potions.
Unfortunately, most people don't realize you don't need 5 players for Dark V. The game adjusts the number of foes to the number of players.
What IS important, is that there is one player of each profession. You need your class efficiency, if there's one missing it'll consume a lot of potions to finish. That's my reason for dropping out, but I usually go when clock hits 20 seconds left. If this happens a lot in your session, quit back to map, and re-enter knight bus. You'll probably end up on another server with new people, who might not quit or who are diverse enough in professions.
Another reason for dropping out is if I see a full, diverse group of 5 players and one of them doesn't press 'join'. If there's 5 players, there's no need to wait at all, and I then suspect that player is AFK, crashed, or freeloading and I'm not carrying dead weight into a chamber.
I also will commit to higher level rooms only if the party is well balanced, but usually pull out at 15secs. However, it has happened a few times that the game simply booted me out as soon as we entered the room - very frustrating!
I couldn’t agree more. I lost 2 LV5 runestones getting put into the challenge by myself with 10-15 seconds remaining. This is infuriating. I get wanting balance… But one of the rewards for the bonus assignments is using 10 exstimulos in a challenge...So you’re going to use them anyway.
@Jeroenix on the balancing, on one hand I agree that personally I'd give D5 a go with a rounded 3, but on the other having tried back in the day before the KB (and once in a while when I just feel too optimistic and something goes wrong these days) for D5 in particular the number of enemies for a solo player is crazy (something like 12 iirc) so while it is still less than when a full team faces it there's less leeway for scaling on D5 I think than on the lower chambers
Having an option to switch professions in the menu would help a bit since it's not uncommon to find yourself in a set of three or four of one class plus one or two of another and could switch to change out - but by the time you get to the training menu and back it's rarely in the same place (eg players have left or they found another player in the gap - or it puts you on a different server)
Me ocurre lo mismo. Por más que reserve pociones para la ocasión, por lo general me quedo sin tiempo y con las manos vacías.
Dark 5 really needs at least one of each profession to be viable, other wise your wasting your time.
It is possible with maybe a couple of professions (one must be a Magizoologist) but it will likely still eat up a bunch of each players potions..... or just yours, if the rest of the team isn’t paying attention! Also those players tend to be experienced and know the drill.
my biggest grievance is the cost of my potion stock with a 2 profession group, or a group who doesn’t know what to do. Dark Chamber V is just not forgiving enough :(
can scrape through with one or two others in the group who do the right things.
I tend to drop at around 30seconds if it’s not looking good. But having said that if I see a good number of people and it’s just not the right profession mix, I will usually change professions myself and head back in to see if people are still active and trying for it.
Its annoying for people who don’t get a lot of time for the chamber (I’m one of those), but that also makes it more critical that I’m not wasting my time with a group that has no chance.
I’ll also try to signal I’m OK with a sub par group by flashing my ready button on and off, whilst being careful not to trigger a premature start, if it’s worth waiting a few more seconds for a more effective team. Also hopefully I’m signalling to the team that I’m paying attention and they can rely on me to do my job.
I normally play as Magizoologist, but recently trying out and enjoying Professor role.
my reasons to drop:
1) only 1 or 2 professions (Unless I’m stocked up full on potions and also feel lucky) by time the timer gets down to 30 secs
2) if too many of same profession mean we can’t get one of each - usually someone else who takes the last slot, creating a group of just two professions, and refuses to drop. Doesn’t matter what the timer is, as usually plenty of people are active and I’ll just wait for the next group.
3) if it looks like someone is freeloading (I appreciate some people get distracted, as I’ve done it myself). But sometimes it’s the same character trying the same chamber repeatedly.
I managed DC5 this morning as a Magizoologist with an Auror - we had had a Prof in the lobby but the Prof left and the Auror was down as join, so I had the choice between playing the round as a twosome or dropping the Auror unit by leaving (as time ticked down).
Could have been a positive tale of overcoming the odds but the Auror didn't curse anything except its own targets - making it a highly tedious slog against evasive erklings and pixies and nasty werewolves (spiders were fine with a bit of potion quaffing, no need for curses there).
I hate Aurora. Can't count on them to do their job, or not drop out at the last minute. As a Magizoologist, I know my job. Hack, Slash, Revive Aurors.
@TheHu2 I understand constructive criticism, but pooping on our whole profession is just dumb and mean. I could tell you countless of stories about mazoos who don't revive or put up bravery even if I have shared focus to them all game long and hexed their erks and spiders. But that would not help anyone and would make people angry, mostly those people who don't play like that, because they know it's not true for everyone. We have low stamina and that's why we die a lot, especially if profs don't put up proficiency and shields even if we share focus with them too. Am I complaining that i have to do my job in the game, ie hex and **** darks? No, I am not, because I love playing as an auror. Your job is to **** foes and revive. If that doesn't suit you, then maybe try how easy it is being an auror and not dying if shields aren't up.
@Odetshki very true. I'm maxed professor and more recently auror and today tried to do dark v as auror, passed countless focus, and proficiency never went up nor did I get a shield. Needless to say multiple people, myself included, got knocked out. But having played way more as a professor I've had plenty of times aurors just don't pass focus. Everyone just jumped right in and played for themselves. Also happened tonight. Bad group play from all classes unfortunately
Its just about person behind the phone. 🙄
And magizoo doesnt have hex.
We rely hex heavily on auror because we have very hard time dealing with erkling.
And we rely very heavily on magis and profs since we can only hex and share focus, not do anything to help us stay alive. I get that it feels like the other professions are to blame if people lose, but all professions have freeloaders and people who aren't accustomed to playing in group, so saying that they hate the whole profession is a bit much for me. I don't hate the whole professions, I might slightly dislike some players 😂
"3) if it looks like someone is freeloading (I appreciate some people get distracted, as I’ve done it myself). But sometimes it’s the same character trying the same chamber repeatedly."
They could be the "beacons". Because we can't invite friends to the challenges (released months ago in Pokemon Go, saved the whole pandemic situation) people use this workaround. Someone jumps the KB, settles in a room and waits. He's the beacon. The others jump in KB, visit the room to see if they are on the same server, if not, leave the KB, visit KB again...
This all would be resolved with invitation.
I don't think the beacons come to the fights, they leave if other people come to the waiting area.
Look at the obvious. 3 different wizards. When all the same show up it helps no one much. Needs at least 2 of each or close to it. I notice a lopsided attack pool is a reason ppl leave.
