Went into fortress yesterday- getting 120 instead of usual 500! Totally gutted, restarted game twice hoping a glitch!
Tried to comment on 'nefred xp' thread but my phone or site playing up! Thanks @Craeft for the link that explains the updates. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Gonna have to really fight for my xp now lol!

No problem. I try to keep an eye on their announcements as they come out. I really appreciate it when companies give detailed announcements regarding updates such as that one. Especially since the update notes were ... well... nonexistent otherwise.

Ruined my morning yesterday lol, cos also my 2 leaping toadstools spawned as i was sat there wait- then disappeared!! Gutted. I talk to my kids about it when things go wrong but they look at me like 'mum-get a life!its a game!' They just don't understand! 😂😂
After playing Pokemon Go for 3 years, I discovered all the goodies were handed out to active players in the early days, like my Stone Edge Machamp. So glad I didn't toss that one. In fact, I may have tossed others not realizing how useful it would be until they introduced PVP. Anyhow, it's usually REAL GOOD to be here in the early days of a game; even if we can't see the forest for all the trees.
Getting a brilliant hedwig (which are everywhere) is ~600XP and way quicker/cheaper than a fortress. Brain elixr it and these event weeks are pretty sweet for levelling.
Well, I guess they didn't mean for Hedwigs to give that much... Was good for a couple levels anyway!
@NearlyHeedless i was in ny element yesterday getting over a 1000 xp with brain elixir for both harry potter & hedwig & they were everywhere!! Oh well- that was sweet while it lasted too- why does it not say on announcement how much xp they'll now be giving? I know il find out when i run into 1 today, but i would still like to have known what it will be.
I found it interesting they gave us advanced warning they were changing it and then telling us just as it happened. Very up front about it. Gave folks a chance to grind knowing it was going to be gone. I got to rank 32 in the event page, now I can basically skip those purple glows til the next event. Done.
I will start that I’m not a level grinder, I do grind for quests and can get caught up with a game, but don’t typically grind XP for gaining XP’s sake.
So I thought it was admirable that they announced the change was coming like @lamoracke said. We had more then 12 hours notice that the event’s XP was going to be nerfed. I know it can be upsetting to have something changed to make things harder...but I also am here for the long game and liked the transparency.
I do hope most people were able to take advantage of the warning. I do feel bad for those who have been busy and were putting this event off until this weekend.
However, I know they didn’t want these high level event Foundables stacking with the 3x Baruffio brain elixirs on Community day this Saturday...so I completely understand this decision.
