I have the ingredients!

I have several of the ingredients needed for different potions, but when I go to brew them, I still have to use gold to get those same ingredients (even the ones that I have in abundance.) What's the use of picking up ingredients if I have to pay to get them again anyway? Does that mean there's no way to play this game in the long run without spending real money?

Huh, well its not supposed to work that way. When you open your Potions menu and click next its showing all of the required ingredients in green? And no, if you have the ingredients required unless you speed up the potion no gold should be used.
That is unusual. I have never had this problem. Before paying gold coins to brew a potion, I would try to see which ingredient the game is claiming that you are missing and how much of it before you pay. Nextly, you might have brewed the potion, but you have to wait for the potion to finish (this usually takes a few hours). If you have all the ingredients, you might be accidentally paying for the potion to finish brewing immediately...
If you are getting instant potions by paying, that means you had the ingredients but you are spending coins to getting them instantly instead of waiting for the brewing time.
To have faster brewing times (not instantly but faster) that are FREE, try completing master notes.
I check my ingredients in my vault before I go to potions, and I'll have like 30 ground scarab beetle and when I get to potions it'll claim I have zero. I've never paid for an instant potion (or received one.) It's not just that ingredient, either. And I can't pick anything up anymore because it never takes things from my vault when I brew, either.
That sounds like a bug. I haven’t seen that before. Did you report it in-app? Hope they can fix it for you!
