Hi everyone,
We want to thank you for all your feedback during Part 1 of the Darkness Rising Brilliant Event. We aim to make the game a good balance of challenging and fun. We heard your input regarding specific tasks and have made adjustments accordingly for Part 2.
Here are the updated HP of the Brilliant Oddities:
Thank you again for your feedback and look forward to hearing about your achievements during the Darkness Rising Brilliant Event Part 2.
Not much for adjustments... looks like it will be another massive grind, full of many disappointed players.
The hp of the foes by itself wasn't really a problem (except for new players). It was the lack of energy for the people confined in their house due to lockdowns and fires. Plus the added grind to get the required family xp who made it worse.
Just lowering the hit points a few notches ain't fixing those issues.
Edit
At least you dropped the family xp grind
Thank you @hpwulola gor the information but I have to say I am seriously disappointed with the reduction. At 400-500 each that is still 4-5 spell energy for a maxed out player and a newer player that is 8-10 for a measly 50xp and 3-4 FXP. Seriously? Who thought this was a good idea? It is better then 700 but not much better. Perhaps no one read the 7 or 8 pages of 100’s of players all complaining about the same ill advised decision that HPWU made. Or maybe they just don’t care anymore. Which is really what it seems like. This game had so much potential and it appears that the devs are purposefully running it into the ground by having events be an awful grind time after time and NOT at all listening to the community of players not to mention the weekly bugs that are added in on top of the fact that bugs that are months old still haven’t been fixed.
Since I have been around the forum over a year it appeared that the devs and HPWU were much more engaged in the forum this time last year and I just wish it would go back to what it used to be. This game has such a loyal fan base due to the love of all things HP but that can only sustain the game for so long.
The XP tasks is not specific from brilliant traces/runestone (for challenge) isnt it?
So we could acquire it from another higher XP traces/runestones.
Removing BE-Exp task is good, but this feels like a continuaiton of "slow down" mechanics to incentivise buying more potients and energy, rather than making more clever aspects to interesting gameplay or at least cheeky wizardy discovery... not much interest here in participating in more grindy BEs... imho.
Which foudables are going to be boosted?
Can't wait to see how this one is unachievable considering today's social climate.
@ClairabusGryff your observations are spot on.
@hpwulola I’m not sure if it’s horrible RNG or maybe a slow down on purpose but the trace charm drop from chests seemed awfully light this weekend. With the sheer amount of chests I opened, I’d assume I’d find more than 3 trace charms. I can deal with horrible random numbers, but if you’re in fact able to throttle it back during events, and are doing so.. please stop...
@BOCAG, what do you normally get? I've only found a total of three charm charges ever. From that, I assumed it was only a 1-2% chance.
Back on the general topic, I was thinking about it more today. Bottom line is that I have no problem with you having a business model, I just want you to have one that I'm interested in participating in! ;)
imho, I'm here because I like JKR universe, not because the Calamity is intriguing. If ideas for BEs are dry, give us something that's non-calamity related in SOS tasks. For example, make up Bobby, Dobby's half sister who needs help with elf-world troubles, and for whom we need to collect quirky (to us non-elfs) things on the world map or collect things from inside specific portkey locations, or where we use AR to actually search inside the room for something for her, or we find a little puzzle minigame to solve and unlock... Be creative. Give us something fun and wizardy. Again, this is my tired attempt to garner renewed interest.
Ok
Part 2 is going to be just as bad as everything else!!!
Developers of game just dont care!!!
Ruined game.
Not fun anymore.
Driving people away in droves.
I am not even going to play this next BE.
I had hoped it would be different .
I was waiting to see if Developers listened to players feedback....no they dont!!!!
I will not even open Wizards unite app for duration of event.
Use 10 extimulo potions in wizarding challenges? Really? More of this, again? At least it's in the bonus task. Are players really spending money when they pull this? I just lowered my stock by 40-50 potions this weekend, but I'll be visiting greenhouses today. I can't support spending money on blatant cash grabs in a game that's not even trying to be fun for the casual players. I figure there's some other hidden mechanism like low spawns making it unplayable, since the last 3 events have made me extremely cynical. I'm going to be charitable, and assume the cash grab is due to financial problems of the parent company due to covid, but this kind of game programming will only accelerate losses in the long run as they lose what could be a profitable game and player base.
@hpwulola Thank you for listening to the complaints. I have a couple observations to share. 1. The TTD used to attract more of the event foundables during events. Recently, when used during events, the TTD just seems to attract more foundables in general like when it is used on a non-event day. A few extra Brilliants or Event types show up, but not like they used to. Whatever mechanics or algorithms are being used to make the TTD attract more event foundables (as advertised) seems to not be working. I am fortunate to be able to go to parks and walk alot so I am able to find the event foundables needed for tasks, but it is alot more time consuming. 2. During events, and when using TTD, the amount of spell energy found on the ground seems to diminish. I assume this might be from additional foundables spawning in place of the energy? I do realize that the (energy) map spawns were added as part of the pandemic changes and this side effect may be unavoidable. Maybe the inns could reward higher amounts during events to make up the difference. Alot of people may be able to go out, but are just running errands and can only hit a fraction of inns they used to. I would also like to add that I have noticed what seems to be an increase in Severe and Emergency Foundables on the map and wanted to say Thanks for that! And one suggestion... instead of correcting the Flares on the foundables (Red is now Severe as well as Emergency), maybe the Emergency Foundables could just be changed to a Blue Flare? Again, Thanks for listening and helping to improve what is a difficult situation with the pandemic restraints.
@BocaG Thanks for sharing this. That definitely is not the intention, I'll point this feedback out to the team.
@wthKamikaze This insight in point 1 regarding TFTD potion matches a lot of feedback I have been seeing, it is a good point you are raising.
What you said in point 2 about items on the map is important as well, we hope to provide a good balance for players but the items (Traces, ingrediants, etc) do compete to appear on the map. We will aim to improve this experience in our next events.
@hpwulola this "competing" map items (traces, ingredients etc) had happened from long ago isnt it?
can we increase the item revealed threshold maybe?
or some dedicated slot items among the revealed items just for events only so it wouldnt be competing with another non event items?
@Kodokmag: Yeah, I think this is a fundamental game mechanic so it was that way since the start. The game seems to simply have generic spawn points on which any stuff can spawn. Which means that if you increase the amount of energy that spawns you automatically decrease traces and ingredient spawns and vice versa.
What they actually would need to increase is the amount of spawn points; or reduce the refresh time for each spawn point; but then you still end up with the problem of unevenly distributed spawn points, so there still will be players that have not spawn points whatsoever...
Also, yes, seems like the XP are not bound to BE, but (@Orovide) there is still an intrinsic "get BE XP" task in round 2, because getting 4 BE runestones basically means you need to get 121-160 BE family XP. You get 50 BE XP from the first round, so effectively 71-110 BE XP, I guess? Should be much easier than last time around...
But the reduction in HP of the foundables seems mostly cosmetic. I'd still argue that BEs (excluding the bonus round) should not be a challenge at all...
Thank you for making the XP requirement generic and not family related, that coupled with the drop in HP for the oddities and the decrease in brilliant foundables required should make this week’s event much more enjoyable to those of us in rural/suburban areas. I might even get the bonus this time!!
@Orovide Perfectly said!
Anything they can do to slow appearance of traces to force us to buy more!
Dark Witches I'm seeing are 600.
@sablknight ive seen 600 also.
@hpwulola At least some of us are seeing Dark Witches as 600, not 500 XP as you stated in your post above. Can you see if they can fix it, please?
20 mins into the event and my first TTD and losing motivation watching my spell energy drain away.
@hpwulola Is it the intention that the dark witch has 600HP?
I've only seen 1 witch and she was 600.
Again as in part 1, the task isn't recognising the amount of foundable collected. I have returned 11 brilliant dark wizards but my task only registers 9.
i saw one dark witch just now, its 500.
fixed it?
@Ischia I'm having the same issue. I've collected at least 10 dark witches and it's saying I only just got my 7th. Seems like when they fixed the XP, they sent that wonky now.
There was an error with the Dark Witch HP at first, but we were able to fix it! Thanks for reporting
Firstly @hpwulola thanks for listening and at least trying to make adjustments - that is at least showing intent to change. I have completed all previous brilliant events and bonus. Last one is the first I couldn't complete. Based on the adjustments, I might be able to complete this one but as other are reporting this is a GRIND and not so easy when spawns are not working efficiently. All the dark spawns for me have been the old part1 poachers, snatchers. A little too late for those and really - if I didn't complete why do I want to complete now and not gain reward. Just switch over to ALL new.
If is always important to remember the MAJORITY play part-time and we grab a few mins here and there to play. We cannot dedicate hours daily to the grind - if that continues we will just move on....
