Missing Potential

I have almost finished all the story missions now. Something has been nagging me that I hope can be improved upon. I felt like it had been decided to make this game collecting things because that's what Pokemon Go was doing with the AR. Then a story had to be thought up to try to explain the world built around that mechanic. This feels very backward and makes the story seem really contrived in places. The skill trees and rpg style progression already exists, why wasn't this style chosen as fitting better with a story driven game? Maybe stores/inns could issue quests such as gathering ingredients etc and issue rewards. This would have made much more sense for the world that you are acting as a wizard in. Throw in some more magical creatures and maybe some dark wizards prowling around. Use story line quests and make this game more of an AR RPG to allow the freedom for what this game really needs, a great story that makes sense in the Harry Potter universe. Hopefully, this bizarre story chapter of "foundables" and "confoundables" can end and this game can reach its potential. Unfortunately, a lot of my friends have already left when they were disappointed by the story line and what seemed to borrow way too heavily off pokemon go mechanics. Would anyone else like to see this game shift and better develop its rpg and story driven plot side in future updates?
