Mission Impossible: October Wizarding Weekend
I am a Lv 48, SOS training 10889 player. I spent an average 6hrs/ day and a bushel and a peck wort of potions and dark detectors on this event and I have given up hope of completion. Me and quite a few other fellow high level players. Not enough pink potions and DDs to call them, not enough exstimulo and dawdle droughts to overpower the few which appear in the world. Hard is Ok, impossible not so much. Especially when it comes as insult to injury after the trace charm was nerfed "in order to level the playing field for new players". REALLY? So how are these new pkayers supposed to return 45 Emergency level traces in 3 days when I can't? Especially with these population and deparure stats? Those precentages come down from corporate and get input by programmers, theyre not a game of chance. This event, honestly ****?!?

lv 60 sos training 28k I finished event on sat, but persivals and portraits were a pita to find, so in the end i had to tc (even w a nerfed tc) some of them to rush it a bit so i could get it over with.`. I'll agree that events are only getting lamer as time flies by...
I'm pasting something another player I know said in a discord server which I agree wholeheartely with: (foir privacy im not also pasting their name):
My son doesn't play much. So I have been trying to lend a hand. I think he's level 32. So each day I'm trying to at least open the game for him so he can get the daily bonuses through the month. At that level, he didn't get many FG or MM to start with, then he hardly plays, so he has not gotten much more since. With so few, he can't buy much for skills. OMG, catching things is so hard. Even with a potent potion it takes me 3-4 casts to catch Tom Riddle, assuming he doesn't run away. I end up basically using one potent per Emergency. I spent some of his meager resources to at least bump up his basic exstimulo to +25 so it is usefull against the other traces. He's still on the basic level for a lot of these pages, so even after catching several Toms, the reward for prestiging is tiny. Gathering resources needed to buy skills is painful and expensive in terms of potions. He would need to spend probably 4 times the amount of time and potions to finish the event as I do. I can't help feeling this game is unplayable at lower levels. You are basically stuck catching lower level traces. Chase XP as much as you can to level up and hopefully you can reach a point where you can participate in the events. I think WB has missed the boat on this point. They "listen" to the vocal players, who are the ones playing the hardest and longest. Lower level players aren't in all the forums/reddits. They probably install the game, play for a couple weeks, then give up in frustration when an event happens. I'm curious what a chart of player retention looks like for this game over time.
------
the game, with mastery taken from lvlying up only to also from sos training has made the game impossible, tedious and unfun for anyone not lv60, and new players wont reach that, they'll get bored and leave long before lv 60.
This was really disappointing.
A complete bumble of the wizarding weekend event in which it became impossible to prestige the Fallen Ministry Atrium page b/c the "Might is Magic" and "Tom Riddle Sr's Gravestone" wizarding challenge only fragments were deactivated. At the beginning, based on information that had been released, I was excited for the event and had plotted out a way for my group to respect physical distancing but still travel together to enjoy it. Then the live event revealed only Knockturn Alley fragments would be guaranteed, which is on a completely different registry page, thus making it impossible to prestige "Fallen Ministry Atrium." This was further compounded by the 2000 family xp which could have been possible had we been able to prestige the page so we could get increasing levels of rewards. My group planned to meet at our starting location 1 hour after the event went live. All 12 of us cancelled and abandoned the event once we realized what a un joyful time sink it would be.
And before many of you make the argument that there's an entire weekend to do the event. I have 2 young kids and we go on a walk. We went on 3 walks over the weekend as long as they could tolerate and I still was unable to complete the event. Compounded with the reality that is 2020, and if this event was "designed to enable people to play at home as much as possible," both you and the developers are deceiving yourselves.
Don't forget the target demographic is the same as the years Harry Potter and company were in school, with an extension to those who grew up with the books. Yet the design of the events is too arduous for any but those who desire to be "hardcore."
Perhaps someone of influence will read this. Hopefully it at least gives pause to those designing future events to remember who is playing this game. Or, after these travesties, who was.
YES! This exactly! They changed the game so much it’s almost impossible to complete these dumb events! Honestly I don’t even like the brilliant events anyway. I can’t stand how you can’t find any traces now unless you have potions, and EVEN THEN they barely give you any! It’s been THREE days since I’ve even seen a Snatcher, and I have zero potions left, plus not enough ingredients to brew potions. So I’m literally stuck. I should be used to this though. Rural players are forgotten or disregarded. Anyway, all that to say that I literally came to offer feedback for this exact reason, but you said it better than I did. I’m finally (slowly) approaching level 50 and I’m starting to entertain the idea of quitting. It’s just not fun anymore. Granted some of the changes have been great!! But I hate how they’re requiring an absurdly high number of certain traces and next to zero availability for actually SEEING those Traces. It’s been going on for several events now. I can’t even find the traces unless I use a Detection potion, and even then they only show me 2-3...and so I use a Trace Charm and NOPE. That “fix” ruined everything too... anyways...how am I supposed to find an absurdly high number of specific Foundables if you don’t even make them FINDABLE?! Rant over.
