I have a theory about this next event. It is under the larger “Potter’s Calamity” event, but is just a separate page. If you look at what we have to collect this time, there is one that has 12 fragments (the snitch), 2 that have 3 fragments (which we can guess we will get from Portkey and fortress), and three that only have 1 fragment. This would make me think these are received through the quest line.
I thought it was weird the snitch was the only thing that would be a foundable...but then I started thinking...do you think along with the snitch we will also have the hedwigs and quidditch captain Harry’s? Kind of like other “Families”, we see things from different pages at the same time. So I think we will have to sift through all those hedwigs again to try and find the snitches.
Oh please no. I love Hedwig and all, but I’ve seen enough of her for the time being. I noticed the number of fragments as well and made the same assumptions about the traces and the /3 items. I thought maybe the last three would come from the event to do lists. But who knows, maybe you’re right.
I hate seeing poor Hedwig struggling like that. As a matter of fact, I dislike all the wind, storms and lightening confoundables. It just seems cruel. 😔 Don't get me started on the fire 🔥 confoundables. I have to turn my sound off. I can't stand to hear them struggle.
I know they aren't really real but after following the world of Harry Potter for 20+ years, the Wizarding World is ingrained in my soul.
I hope if we continue at a rate of every other week there is an event (which I personally feel is an amazing pace) that we get some more profession lessons sooner rather than later! I would love to have Professors power be on par with Aurors (100) and Magizoologists when they have the Become the Beast skill (99) and we end with 79 and no modifiers to buff them. I would also love for how many restricted books are required to be more balanced between each class. Same with the regular spell books and scrolls. Being a few off would be fin but having Professors require twice as many restricted books makes us take longer to max out and we have to grind more for sure.
Does anyone know if you still get the HP Calamity rewards for opening a brilliant portkey after the event ends? I have enough brilliant portkeys to get the foundables I need, just not sure if I will be able to open them before the event ends.
P.S. I can't wait for the "adventure sync" update! Lol
@Nascarfanof88 From the way they have presented this event...as long as you collected the 7k Brilliant Portkey after this second part of the Potter’s Calamity began, it should give you the ministry ID fragment, even if you open it after the event has ended. If it was a 7k left over from part one...it cannot be trusted. 😜
Don’t know what it is, but assuming it is from completing the 4th of the event quests. Having a hard time seeing ANY common dark wizards in the fortresses. Mostly doing levels 6-8. Perhaps dark Runestones will help, don’t know.
@HypnoTraveler A quick tip. Switch your profession to auror and go to the very first level. You will most likely get common dark wizards very quickly that way.
@HypnoTraveler yes to aurur! I changed to auror after spending more runestones than I liked. I just needed one more, took me two battles in level 1 to get that last one. When hubby needed his, I switched back to auror again, and he got all three in our second battle on level 1. They come out for aurors quickly.
I'm finished now, but I found this event EXTREMELY frustrating and time consuming. Like many people seemed to experience, I was annoyed by the portkeys. I had saved up silver keys and used them the morning (a couple hours) before the event started thinking that would make it so I didn't have to wait all that long to complete that. But no, the fact that I started them BEFORE the event meant they didn't count, and I had to use more silver keys and do lots of extra travel that was JUST to get these portkeys open. But that was not the most frustrating thing in this event.
The defeat 4 common dark wizards task was so aggravating. I spent over a dozen runestones, hours of time, and hundreds of energy doing Tower 1 challenges and only got 1 common dark wizard. So I decided to drop down to Ruins 4. It wouldn't get me as much experience per runestone used, but I hoped it would get me the common dark wizards faster. Over an hour and 10 or so runestones later, I had only found 1 more common dark wizard. So I dropped difficulty again to Ruins 1, and finally after 6 runes (and having to buy a rune pack from the shop to even have the runes to use), I got two common dark wizards in a single run. From an event design perspective, this is terrible design. Players should not have to waste their runes (a limited resource) doing runs with poor rewards to complete the event without an excruciating experience. I am sure many people didn't have as much trouble as I did (I did **** many 1 star foes on Tower 1, but there aren't always 1 star foes and when there were, I was getting unlucky by not having 1 in 6 be dark wizards). But by making it specific to just one specific star value of one specific challenge foe, you ensured a higher standard deviation in the number of runs people would have to do, and thus that more people would be like me and have to spend 4+ hours doing nothing but challenges to complete that single task.
In the future please make such challenges less likely to take so obscenely long. A simple fix could have been to make it count ALL dark wizards, not just the 1 star ones. Even if it meant doubling or even tripling the number of dark wizards that had to be defeated, it would have taken me much less time. It would anger me every time I'd see a 1 star something else and a 2 or 3 star dark wizard in a challenge. I don't mind events being a challenge, and I don't mind them requiring me to spend some extra time completing them that I otherwise wouldn't spend playing (or doing something else in game with that time), but this even felt very un-fun because of just a couple tasks (unlocking portmanteaus and defeating dark wizards) took more time than all the rest of the event combined.
@Psychomyrmex I had a similar frustration with the Dark Wizard part for days. Thankfully the suggestion was given to switch to Auror for the Fortress. No scrolls or books spent and Common Dark Wizard came up on 1st challenge.
Wasn’t in love with this Part 2 thing but did enjoy the Brilliant books and the help here in the Forum.
I find it interesting, and don't envy the developers, that we have people complaining that the event was too easy and other people complaining that the event was too difficult. Both complaints are obviously valid, there are environmental factors, luck and a plethora of other variables to consider, we even had some misunderstandings about how some of the game features worked.
I'm certain that they welcome the feedback here to get an understanding of how the events make people feel but I bet they depend more on trends in player activity and completion rate and possibly even into how it impacts purchases.
I don't recall having much issue with the dark wizards. I was also collecting death eaters at the time. I was working with my wife who is also a professor. Maybe I just got lucky. Anyway I am looking forward to see what the assignments look like in the next event. I expect that we won't see feedback from this event incorporated this quickly though.
I feel if they would do away with the title of the opponent and just stick to the name it would address several of the frustrations mentioned. Or, if they want it to be Formiddable then say Formidable Dark Wizard or higher.
Nothing more frustrating than to pull every version of the opponent you're hunting for except the one you need, especially when you're defeating the more difficult versions of it.

Oh hi purple Hedwig. Welcome back.
Haha, got to say it... “Called it!!!” 😜
Really?! I’ve not seen purple hedwig again (yet). Quidditch Harry is back too! I thought he was the duplicate.

I'm a sap, I know, I know. 🤷♀️

Both Hedwig and Harry are back and they're living outside my back door. I wish they'd go away so the snitch will come visit.

@ovoverflow4487 Thank you!
I have 0/1 for 1 item on Harry’s Desk. Been opening Portkeys and doing challenges. Is there a bug or problem?
Just noticed, it is fragment reward from 4/4 of event quests. Need another common dark wizard.
Which item do you have 0/1 for? Have you completed all 4 pages of the quests?

@Dogoutlaw @Overflow4487 Wow! Thanks, that was so fast and easy. Missing piece filled out and event complete, just 1 challenge as Auror.
