Spend a weekend defending against dark magic and rounding up Dark Arts Foundables!
From Friday, October 2 at 11 a.m. PT–Monday, October 5 at 11 a.m. PT, keep an eye out for the following:
- Special Assignments focused on returning Dark Arts Foundables with rewards including Potions, Spell Books, Runestones, Spell Energy, Silver Key and DADA Books.
- Increased sightings of the Magick Moste Evile, Thestral, Portrait of Voldemort, Percival Graves and Tom Riddle Foundables on the Map and from Tonic for Trace Detection.
- Players have a chance to receive a Dark Arts Runestone after returning event Traces.
Please note: To enable as many players around the world as possible to participate safely, this event has been adjusted to facilitate playing from wherever you are. Please remember to adhere to local rules and regulations, and be respectful of others and your surroundings.

Really, why the heck are you boosting the stupid Knockturn Alley sign which was just boosted July 11th? Why can't you just stay with the grave and statue as originally passed on to youtubers. You just changed this from fun event to a non event. I already have these green dotted for a while waiting on finally getting enough fortress foundables. No need to play now. I really hate fortress foundables.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that Magic is Might Statue and Tom Riddle Sr.’s Gravestone fragments would be guaranteed rewards in Fortress IV or higher but now I can’t find it anywhere. Did I imagine it?

I wrote, thinking someone finally did the logical thing. After all, it was in all the videos and infographics (that Tom Riddle Sr./Might is Magic would be guaranteed) that remarkabley was released AT THE SAME TIME #ProvidedByWBand Niantic.
Then, we see a "correction". It is in fact the, opposite - this weekend you are only guaranteed to NOT get these Foundables, but the other one, on a different page!! So for players who want to prestige more than once, they have to grind RNG Fortress in stead of hunting wild Foundables.
I swear, it's like they do this on purpose. "No, that would be too good, too much fun. Reverse it!!"
Thanks for making Wizarding Weekend useless. I was looking forward for boosted Magic is Might statue and Tom Riddle Sr gravestone. Instead we get to see boosted stupidity...
This WW is not going to be fun event at all. I was looking forward to get the page to gold. Knockturn Alley sign (from another page!!!) boosted AGAIN won’t see to that.
I don’t like to grind in Fortresses. I don’t do much fights unless there’s something to gain. And now that you have taken away that something, I won’t be spending much time in Fortress than is necessary.
Really, I repeat, this is going to be useless WW.
I already have both affected Dark Arts pages gold, so this doesn't affect me one way or the other except for DaDa books as task prize, but -
WW doesn't seem to serve players all that much, just the whims of the devs, since it offers only unnecessary foundables for many players. Maybe its designed to serve more newer players, but just a hint Warner Bros and Niantic: this is not the way you will keep players interested and make money. Many will just skip the whole event, since they just don't need a god **** thing for the whole weekend. Prestiging a page would at least be something to look forward to.
I'm personnally only waiting for the once cancelled Sept CD, which was postponed because of issues you didn't even fix in the end?
For me this event is just about book harvesting. My Registry is fully inlaid in gold. Perhaps I still need a couple of stars...
I need DADA' s for further progressing in the SOS trees. At his moment I'm out of options...
Still I'm looking forward to it...
@OGMagus So we can get only the Knockturn Alley Sign in Fortress battles? Am I understanding that right? How are we supposed to prestige the page then? I have the other foundables complete and only need Magic is Might Statue and Tom Riddle's Gravesone to prestige from Silver to Gold.
@hpwulola I don't see anything about fortress battles in either the Official Discord post or in this one, so did they remove that aspect entirely?
Also, just curious, why does a Dark Arts centered event have Magizoology Runestones in the the Ministry Supplies Bundle for sale in the shop? 🤔
Hi there so annoyed that it wasn't communicated before the time that it is only the Knockturn alley sign that will be available. Was planning to prestige the page over the weekend. According to all coms I saw all fragments would have been available..... why do we get told now? Thanks alot
I heard it was possible that only the Knockturn Alley Sign would be available during this event. I thought that was stupid, but I usually go with the flow, so I tried doing fortress battles to get the others placed on my current page before the event. I was ONE away from doing so! I am not happy with this event or this game right now. I know part of that is bad luck in the moment, but that's been a problem from the start that I've looked past. My frustrations about them yanking us around with poor communication have been building up. It might be stupid, but this event might be what pushes me over the edge. It seems more and more like they don't actually care about keeping their players. I'm getting tired of just going with the flow, and I think this game just might not be worth my time anymore.
Total joke. I read it was supposed to be "guaranteed Knockturn Alley frags in Forest chamber and higher - but you could still get the other two randomly from any chamber 'below' that"
Not perfect or ideal, but still better than the garbage they gave us. At least then we could still be able to prestige the page.

I need to also put in my disappointment that only knockturn alley signs drop from fortress. Made this event completely useless.
I did a battle in Forest III to test it and received the Knockturn Alley Sign. It could be a coincidence but usually in a chamber that high, I get one of the other two if any at all. The event is not completely useless as there are prizes for the tasks, but as far as advancing in the Dark Arts family is concerned, yes, it's useless.
I did a bunch of Tower1 runs, and ONLY Knockturn Alley Sign drops. Very Annoying...
Such a shame that you all continue to FAIL. Like you guys really dont care about your players or community do you? First you say that in Forest IV and higher are guaranteed Magic is Might & Tom Riddle Senior foundables. Then whoops we messed now it’s Knockturn Alley is guaranteed in Forest IV or higher. Even starts and now Knockturn Alley sign is the ONLY thing you can get from any level of wizarding challenges. Literally, why?? How?? This is insanity. I will be playing this event until the end and if it isn’t fixed by the end of the event I don’t plan to touch this game ever again. seriously. There is no logic here, and I’m truly just astounded that you would do this. RIP W.U :(

Are we only going to be able to return knockturn alley signs in chamber battles? That's the only item returning in Wizarding challenges for me no matter what chamber or number dark arts runestone I use. When choosing a runestone and clicking on the ... afterwords there are no chances for any other item on dark arts pages.
So I reviewed all of your communication on this event to players. None of it states that two Foundables won’t be available at all nor that only Knockturn Alley sign is available as a “boost”. Please fix this before the weekend is over due to your lack of communication. Plenty of players including myself would have grinded this out earlier if we knew that two Foundables wouldn’t be available at all.
I have played 8 fortresses straight with different team mates, and the only fragment from the dark arts runestone that is being rewarded is the knoockturn alley sign....
Do I smell another bug?

I mean, black screen, wrong flair and fragments dropping, fragments not taken into account, events after events with no apparent planning nor testing before rolling, no transparency, no feedback...
I think you guys got the "engagement" with the players all wrong... It seems like you want to push us away...
@hpwulola We are all hoping this is a bug and not just a really poor decision. We would really like to play this event but this is a very undesirable development.
The thing is, if they realized you didn't want to give us guaranteed return of Magic is Might Statue and Tom Riddle Sr.'s Gravestone, that's disappointing but not a deal breaker. Making it impossible to get them at all, though, is much more than disappointing, it's bordering on manipulative and punishing. That's why I, and I am sure many others, are hoping that it is merely a mistake.
Please let us know if you are checking on it. I am sure we are all willing to give the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't intentional, but the lack of communication leads us to believe otherwise unfortunately. Thanks.
Same. Same to everything that’s been said. Just SUPER disappointed that we won’t be getting a shot at some rarer DA foundables. Is there going to be an explanation for this...or are we supposed to just take it and be grateful? 🙄
It's a huge oversight to make the other two completely unavailable on the weekend they are needed. Fix this asap. Below Forest 4 with RNG is fine as long as we have a shot. Don't keep making obvious mistakes like this...

How this is intended, i have no idea, but I'm already over this. I wasted a ton of runestones before i figured out they were only dropping signs.

@CeruleanGirl It isn't a bug. It was a poor decision. This is how Wizarding Weekends are. They are designed so that you can get some of the rare foundables. They are designed so that you cannot prestige the page multiple times, so they always leave out one or two foundables.
Since their graphics showed the those found on the map, they chose to keep you from prestiging multiple times by making Knockturn Alley Sign the guaranteed fortress foundable. In order to do that for weekend events in the past, they changed the other two to Emergency foundables. This is how it has been done up to this point and this is how it will likely continue to be done.
Usually, if people want to prestige twice, they make sure that they have the unavailable foundables already collected by the start of the event. OrangeWizard included the incorrect info in their Graphics and Discord managers announced the info based on the graphics, so it led to a lot of confusion and poor planning. As these people don't directly work for Niantic, Portkey, or WB; the responsibility for the false information does not fall on to the HPWU team. So, there will be no changes to the event.
Did you just seriously turned of ANY CHANCE of getting pieces of "Magic is Might Statue" and "Tom Riddle Sr.'s Gravestone" from challanges, despite having a boost on all other foundables on this page? And instead made one and only reward from challenges **** "Knockturn Alley Sign"? I need only ONE "Magic is Might Statue" and THREE "Tom Riddle Sr.'s Gravestone" pieces to prestige this page to gold. You are seriously telling me that I won't be able to do that during this weekend and instead will be forced to place all other foundables over and over on silver page? I have no words. I'm an inch from uninstalling the game.
