"masterful" cast counting to the achievments

I have a question about masterful spells in traces and how they count towards the achievements.

so the first time you cast masterful in trace it gives you a big message "masterful" but any time after that it just goes up and cast spell.

so does that mean that you can only add 1 masterful cast per trace?

and if so does it count even if the actual spell that defeated it is not masterful

did anyone notice this behavior?

    Masterful casts count towards achievements even if the final defeating cast in not Masterful. Whether more than one Masterful cast per trace encounter counts is a good question; I've yet to pull that off.

    @ZookiTabooki While rather unfortunate to have this experience, to answer your question multiple do indeed count... even if you ultimately fail despite having 2 casts left on a Dawdle Draft and 4 left on a Potent Exstimulo with an Emergency trace... :/

    good to hear I try to remind myself to check my achievements masterful count before fighting a higher level trace(more chance of needing multiple casts of masterful) but always forget

    if so its really weird why the "masterful!" message doesn't show after the first masterful cast.

    Sometimes you will actually get the Masterful cast without seeing it say "Masterful" but you will see the bar go into the territory and hear the chime. It counts when it does that.

    I know that is exactly what I'm talking about.

    and it's not sometimes it's every time after the first masterful cast

    I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the masterful message two times on same trace. For something like aguamenti which is a nice quick cast. But you bring up good questions. I’ve never really watched the achievement to see how it tracked.

    I've never had a cast that didn't properly say masterful, or otherwise. When we had the brilliant event, I had several masterful casts for the unicorn. And just like @CytopeAchen , the spells count even if the confoundable apparates.

    so maybe it's just me..

    everytime I get a masterfull cast after a masterfull it just goes up all the way but no message

    I have seen the "no label" masterful on a number of occasions. The bar spikes and sounds, but no label. Seems to happen more on brilliant encounters. Just had one on the Hp vs Dementor brilliant. Masterful cast with label followed by masterful cast without label. Second one ended the encounter. A weird sort of glitch. All seem to count. Just hit 122 masterful casts and Level 17. ;-)
