Is it a goal to make players quit?

There have been some decisions made regarding the brilliant events that have made me question any dedication to this game. The first was when we needed to collect 2 different foundables from tower challenges for the same week. Needless to say, even with using every runestone I could collect I could not get all the quantity needed for one of the 2. It was the first brilliant page that I was unable to complete.

Now we have 20 veils (after I had already collected 20 working through the first 3 pages of tasks - not a task then, but still returning foundables is what we are supposed to do). However I find that the veils have a much much lower spawn rate for me than the brains do. I have had 5 brilliant traces on screen and they are all brains. And the use of a tonic does not guarantee that I will get the traces I need. Yes, I may see a veil or two, but that is in addition to having seen 5-8 brains.

And the need to get 500 family xp for the mysterious artifacts. For me, as a non-professional player getting paid to spend time playing this game, this is near impossible! We are probably 24 hours away from it ending (as I write this) and I just crossed 300/500. Oh, and I am at 13/20 for the veils as well.

It is looking like this will be another task that I will not be able to finish (because one of the placements is a reward for the 4th page). And the part 2 isn't looking hopeful either. It really does make me wonder why I continue to play. I already accepted that I wouldn't beat myself up for not finishing when I am at the mercy of random numbers. But at nearly 6 decades of age ... do I really need to put this stress on my health and heart?

professional players? paid to play the game? lol there is no such thing. Other than that, yeah the tasks are trash.
