Moderation for Edits

Sometimes you type up a completely acceptable post, only to notice a typo or error after you post it. When you edit the post to fix your mistake, it goes in to moderation. Is there a reason for this? It's very frustrating to type up a long post and then to see it go into moderation simply because you don't like mistakes. Surely there is a better way?

This happened to me the other day commenting on the Trace charm change. I edited once to fix a typo, and it reposted just fine. Then I saw another one that I'd missed the first time and edited again, and off into the void it goes! I retyped the whole thing and then caught issues with that one as well (not having caught on yet what was happening, but I had typed the second into Notepad to avoid losing it, figuring it was a forum bug), so I still had it when it disappeared. So I simply copy and pasted it as a new post, correcting the errors before hitting "Post."

So, it moderates posts for multiple edits, but doesn't prevent you from simply posting again. Which is pretty dumb.
