Add counter to each player for each trace defeated in challenges

Anyway to add a counter for how many traces you defeated in wizarding challenges. getting tired of people joining a higher challenge to just sit there and not really do anything, maybe just take out 1 or 2 while the rest have to carry the group and waste more energy. Hopefully keep people a little more honest when it shows how many you’ve taken out.

Or give bonus based on how many you defeat causing a positive influence to take part rather than sit and get rewarded at the end for doing less work. Note - this way it benefits all.

This conversation has come up a few times before. An important point to consider is that if you tie rewards, or even just perceived performance in challenges to that one number then it will cause other problems.

    • Since the assortment of foes is random, it's possible that some players will end up fighting a number of non-proficient foes. That means they'll defeat fewer, and as a result they'll look like they're doing less even though they were active the whole time.
    • Just counting foes defeated doesn't take into account other ways a player can benefit the team with strategic spells. Foe example, it would be so much more useful for an auror to pass focus than to attack a non proficient foe.
    • This might discourage free riders, but instead it will encourage selfish play. A magizoologist might not bother to check for teammates who need reviving, or a professor might choose to use their focus to set hex their own for rather than saving focus for proficiency for the team because they'll be busy trying to beat more foes.

No one is in favor of free riders (except for the free riders themselves). But coming up with a rating system to identify good vs. bad teammates needs a much more nuanced solution than just a defeat counter.
